Kununarra

Ivanhoe Crossing, back into Kununarra after a days drive out and about.

King River

Trev and his big barra - it was 101 cm so it had to go back gently into the river.

A cute calf spotted on the track from the Pentacost River around to Wyndham.

Back in WA

Isn't this just the cutest little bird.

Keep River

It really was amazing and hard to capture in a photo.

Trevor hiding in the shadow or was he just trying to get a bit of shade?

Keep River National Park

The early morning rise was certainly worth it.

Keep River National Park

No river to be found but the rocks and walks were fabulous, quite hot though.

Heading to Keep River National Park

I got to have my first tow of the caravan, so Trev spent the nervous time taking photos of every hill and anything remotely interesting!

There is always one to see.

Geof, the tour master, feeds these birds, the sea eagle being the boss.

Timber Creek

We went on the evening river cruise 40 klms towards the Victoria River mouth (which is 100 klms from Timber Creek Town). It was sensational, the birds, fish, crocodiles and sunset.

Timber Creek Caravan park

A willywag came for breakfast, he would sit right next to our chairs anytime we were eating. (Which of course is often!)

Victoria River

So beautiful and full of crocodiles.

Victoria River

Victoria River taken from Policemen Point Lookout

Trev said "No you can't keep him", so I left him at Victoria River roadhouse, to be picked up by some young jillaroo no doubt!

Leaving Katherine

We picked up a hitch hiker in Katherine, he was going to the Victoria River area, as he had a job lined up there on a station. He was from Germany and a really nice young lad, he had just finished high school and was taking time to decide on his future career.

It was hard to capture the beauty of the gorges.

Katherine Gorge

We had a great day cruising up the Katherine Gorges, we visited three of the gorges, had a swim in the one with no crocodiles!!

Elliot

Magic! and it was free to camp for as long as you like.

Elliot

A secret little place near Elliot, a bird watchers paradise. We met up with Owen and Lee-Anne, from our farming days at Three Springs and had a great time.

Yummy, only a little taste for eveyone, witcherty grubs, they tasted like the cooked up end of the curly chops.

Tennant Creek

Jimmy Hooker presents an very entertaining evening, we got to eat witcherty grubs, cooked of course. He recites some poetry and gives an insight into the local bush tucker.

Litterbugs annoys us, I wish everyone put their rubbish where it is suppose to be in the bin!
As you can see in this photo Trevor took, from the top of the Marbles by dusk there was little room for the late comers. A magic spot because everyone is camped so close you soon are talking to your neighbours.

The Devils Marbles

These rocks called 'The Devil's Marbles' are between Alice Katherine, it was a very popular cheap camp spot, $3.30 per persons per night.

These statues are at Aileron, between Alice and Ti Tree, heading north to Tennant Creek

Alice Springs

The old Telegraph Station

Glen Helen Resort Gorge

By taking a photo at the entry to all these places proves a bonus when it comes to knowing where is where.

Ellery Creek Big Hole, there were lots of birds at these water holes, but they are too quick for the camera sometimes.

This rock formation is just as Trevor found it, all these different rocks are joined together.

More of Stanley Chasm - it really was a special spot.

More of the chasm, we climbed quite a way up, it was al about fitness and finesse!

West Mac Donnell Ranges

Standley Chasm - best at midday when the sun is directly overhead, but we wanted to see all the gorges etc along the west ranges, so a quick look a hard climb and we were off to another.

Ellery Creek Big Hole

How beautiful is this - in the West Mac Donnell Ranges

West Mac Donnell Ranges

Simpson Gap, the first of seven sites we climbed etc on the one day!

Alice Springs

We enjoyed our time here, there is a lot to see and do, especially at the caravan park, free Sunday morning pancakes, Monday night star gazing, Tuesday the didgeridoo man, Wednesday poetry and singing backed by the guitar, Thursday I have forgottten!

Corroboree Rock - the photo doesn't do it justice, the sun was shining through the hole above the bush.

East Mac Donnell Ranges

The rock formation were intersting.

What a beautiful back drop for a morning cuppa?
