One of the steam engines doing it's thing.

The steam roller charged away during the tractor pull part of the day.

An old steam roller

Nyora

A tractor pull, horse ploughing demostration day at Nyora, a little place near Poowong! true, they think our West Aust towns names are strange. There were all sorts of displays, including old working engines, tractors, vintage cars and animals.

Another day another train - this time at Korumburra, two days after the 6. 4 earth tremor.

Beautiful, don't you think? Scary but beautiful.

A train ride on an old train is a must, the track goes along the valley floor, (about 30 mtrs above the floor) and over bridges that I held my breath until we were safely on the other side!

You can understand why it was difficult to control the fires in Victoria in Feb, the hills are so steep and there is one road in and out. That aside it was a pretty little town with a lot of history.

Wahalla

An old gold mining town, perched on the side of the hill, every flat spot was built on.

Looking across the valley, you can see the power plants in the distance. It was not really clear!

La Trobe Valley

One of the coal power plants of which there are many in this valley.

Sale

A photo of a church at Sale - especially for Heather and Elaine!

A squid boat- note the glass lights hanging on the side of the boat

The floating resturant, a rather nice spot for coffee and later for lunch

Lunch time - I have to eat you know, bugs and prawns. This floating resturant once was the ferry that you cruised the lake on ,now moored at the wharf so the seafood was the freshiest.

The entrance at Lakes Entrance - looking east.

The lakes at Lakes Entrance - another beautiful part of Australia's Coast. The weather was sunny and warm but cold at night.

Lakes Entrance

There were lots of these carved statues along the wharf.

She was a lovely young girl from German, cycling her way from Melbourne to Sydney, we spent time giving her lots of advice! Re the hills and mountains coming up for her, put her off completely - she may be busing it the rest of the way.

Orbost

We stopped for lunch just near Orbost and Trev met another young female traveller!

In the distant you can see the wood chip loading facility

At Eden was a whaling station, this is the jaws of a whale, some whale.

Fishing is a big industry in Eden and so we have supported it well, oysters every couple of nights and fish just about as often.

Eden

Whale watching all along this coast , but not this time of the year.

Eden

Taken from the Whale Museum - looking east

Bega

We would have like to participated but couldn't stay until then!

There are other caravans going the same way as us - down to the cold south.

Outside of Bega

Morning tea in the sitch - oh well some spots are not as nice as others!

Inside the cheese factory museum

The old and the new, this photo was taken on the road to Bega - the cheese capital of Oz

Bermagui

Always look in rubber boots, you just never know what you might find, hey Trevor

Tilba Tilba

A quaint little town up in the hills from Narooma

Narooma

What a great shot of the entrance into Narooma

A beautiful golf course right by the sea

The entrance - a bit rough at times!

Narooma

The jetty at Narooma, a very pretty place with a rough entrance to the inlet

Well an air raid shelter - we had to nip in for a nip

Market day at Moruya

Bateman's Bay caravan park was perfect, a nice spot for the afternoon beer etc

Just a little bit of sewing one night

Bateman's bay

Looking across from the van at night at the city lights

Bateman's Bay

Wow what a great spot, our caravan was backed right up to the river - Trev could cast from our annex

These people have the right idea,The Ski Lodge, nothing to do with sking on the slopes as I first thought!

There were demonstrations, this one a bulloch team and two clydesdale horses, they were truly magnificent

There was all sorts of entries and this one was my pick!

Robertson Agriculture Show

We were at this show and this man attempted to achieve a record for the Guiness Book by leading at least 21 dogs, he did it with 23. He actually started with 30 dogs but they didn't know each other and some didn't like each other!
